PROFILE - Jaap Venter

I am an Industrial Engineer with 10 years of Asset and Maintenance Management experience gained in public sector, utilities, infrastructure, transportation and mining industries.  My work experience includes 7 years of client facing roles as MIMS Consultant, of which more than 2 years has been consulting with client organisations on matters of Asset and Maintenance Management Strategy in order to maximise their investment in physical assets, people, processes, and systems.

The areas of my specialised business and process knowledge include organisational development of Operations and Maintenance, performance management, cost management from an engineering perspective, work planning and budget cycles, advanced maintenance work planning and scheduling techniques, asset availability and network uptime, and general maintenance administration practices.

I am a creative and critical thinker, trained facilitator, have very strong inter-personal communication and leadership skills, as well as the technical expediency as engineer to be an agent of change in the specialised field of Asset and Maintenance Management.  It is my aspiration and clear intention to utilise these skills to greater and mutual benefit by working with a team and an organisation that is willing to engage in business transformation.

My successes in this field have been built on forming strong relationships and engaging with people at different levels, encouraging the free sharing of ideas, and having the analytical and technical ability to develop and implement strategies that work and deliver tangible results.
